……but it seems far-fetched.

Hoards of developers have come before the Riverhead Town Board over the last 7-8 years to present their plans to develop the over-1500 acres that the US Navy gave to Riverhead Town after Northrop Grummen closed the facility they operated for over 40 years in the early 1990’s.  With all due respect for the folks who serve (mostly as volunteers on Town Boards), projects of this size are outside of their realm.  One member who has a strong opinion can easily intimidate a board into voting down even the best possible proposal.

That being said, building an equestrian and auto racing facility together is interesting enough, but proposing them in a climate that has at least 5 months per year of winter weather is perplexing to me – perhaps outside my realm. md
